So the patches are done and now I’m at this stage. I really can’t decide on how I want to put the blocks together and it’s really frustrating. What do you guys think? Are any of these combos working? Any other suggested layouts?

Fiona, I would redo the very light blocks, that have hardly any contrast, like the pale yellow etc. (three blocks on the top in the 3rd. pic) and make them in a color with lots more contrast. That way you balance out the design much better and I would put them together like in the second pic from 2nd row, so different colors beside each other. The secundary stars will pop up never the less anyway! Or you could go for add a extra color for the patches where the blocks make the secundary pattern. That would be lots more work, so I guess you’re not waiting for that! Good luck with chosing!
I hadn’t considered re-doing the pale blocks, but it’s a good idea. I’ll have a look in my stash to see what I have! Fortunately, with hybrid piecing, it’s not too much extra work.
I like the scatter or random I also like diagonal
Fiona,
I like the very first layout [top left] as I think two of your lightest blocks work well in that one, sandwiched as they are between the other blocks. The only block I would replace is the first one on the left in the second row.
